Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — CNN Philippines will air the bout between eight-division world champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao and World Boxing Association welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas on August 22 (Philippine time).

Boxing fans can watch the fight, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, via CNN Philippines on free TV channel 9, Cignal channel 10, and Sky Cable channel 14.

The fight will also be shown on GMA7 and TV5, or fans can pay to watch the live stream on Upstream.PH and GMovies.

"It is a first time that CNN Philippines will air his fight," said Arnold Vegafria, business manager of Pacquiao.

The 42-year-old Pacquiao (62 wins, seven losses, and two draws) last saw action in the ring in 2019, beating American boxer Keith Thurman via split decision to claim the World Boxing Association super welterweight belt. The Filipino icon became the oldest welterweight to win a major world title in the sport's history.

"I have agreed to fight Yordenis Ugas on August 22 for the WBA welterweight super championship. The proper way and the only way to win a world title is inside the ring," Pacquiao said.

On the other hand, Ugas holds a record of 26 wins and four losses. He last fought Abel Ramos and won via split decision last year.

"It's an honor to fight the great multiple division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, as I am more than ready to take on this challenge. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Pacquiao, but I am coming to win this fight," Ugas said.

Pacquiao was originally scheduled to fight Errol Spence Jr. but the undefeated American champion withdrew from the match due to a torn retina.
