Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 30) — A total of 102 families were evacuated in the province of Antique after nonstop rains caused flooding in the towns of Hamtic, San Jose, and Sibalom.

They were brought to the nearest evacuation centers in their areas, the provincial government said in a statement.

It added that local social welfare offices are already assessing the needs of the affected families.

The rains were caused by the southwest monsoon or habagat enhanced by Tropical Depression Ester and Tropical Storm Songda, which is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has advised residents living near mountain slopes and river systems "to take precautionary measures to protect life and property."
