Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 14) — Four dead bodies were found along the boundary of Poona Piagapo and Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte Thursday morning, the military said.

According to reports, three of the victims were members of the 43rd Mechanized Company stationed at Tangclao Detachment, Poona Piagapo. The other victim is a still unidentified civilian.

All four were found with gunshot wounds, authorities said. The shooting incident happened at around 8:45 a.m., according to Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

"Based on the report, our troops from the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion received an information from a civilian informant regarding a shooting incident in the boundary of Poona Piagapo and Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte," Vinluan said.

Second Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Facundo Palafox added that they still don't have additional information on the perpetrators.

"Our troops immediately conducted pursuit operation and coordinated with the PNP of Poona Piagapo and Pantao Ragat for investigation," Lt. Col. Domingo Dulay said.
