Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 25) — The Department of Transportation is planning to put up COVID-19 vaccination sites in Cubao, Shaw Boulevard, Boni, and Ayala stations of MRT-3, its chief said on Monday.

During President Rodrigo Duterte's address, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said the DOTr is also establishing a vaccination site at the North Harbor and more will be put up in the stations of LRT-2 and in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4.

He also said the plan to put up vaccination sites in train stations will be approved by the Department of Health.

This comes after Monday’s rollout of COVID-19 immunization site in Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, a project that aims to inoculate around 500 people per day.

The government has been ramping up its vaccination drive to achieve its target of inoculating 77 million Filipinos by the first quarter of 2022 and reach 90 million by the end of the second quarter.

Based on the latest data, over 57 million individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while infections have breached the 3.4 million mark.
