Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 19) – Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday said it is important for voters to take note of how consistent election aspirants have been in their actions.

“Ang sakin po, ‘yung puso napapakita hindi sa sinasabi…hindi ‘yung ginagawa lang ngayon dahil kandidato kami, pero ‘yung consistency ng aming ginagawa,” she said in a virtual meet-and-greet with supporters.

The presidential hopeful said she believes her office’s initiatives to help different groups despite a “very limited” mandate and budget over the past years speak of her kind of governance.

Having said that, Robredo posed a question to those running for public office, particularly those with increased presence ahead of the May polls.

[Translation: When it’s campaign period like now when there's the aftermath of Typhoon Odette, many of the candidates are doing a lot of things. But my question is, during past typhoons, during past crises, where were you?]

In the online event, Robredo reiterated that her record “speaks for itself” as she also noted her office has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization since 2017. She said it means their processes and the service they provide are “at par with international standards.”

She also pointed out that her office received the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit for the third consecutive time last year.

[Translation: That’s the biggest proof that we spend the people’s money appropriately. So, when I say I am offering an honest government, I have proof of that.]
