Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 15)— The Commission on Elections launched on Tuesday a mobile application that aims to streamline the process for voter registration.

The mobile registration form application can be downloaded through the link provided in the social media pages of the poll body.

Once installed, the app can be accessed even without internet connectivity, according to Comelec.

"This app is designed not to be connected to internet. This is a stand-alone," Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said in a media conference. "In that case, hacking incident is not remote considering that the application is not connected to the internet."

The poll body earlier said there will be no extension for the voter registration for the upcoming 2022 polls — with the deadline set on September 30.
