Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 4) - The Civil Service Commission is planning to conduct a pen-and-paper test in areas with poor internet signal as the commission is set to shift to online civil service examination amid the pandemic.

“Except for those na mahina ang signal or fluctuating (Except for those with poor or fluctuating signal), then what is the solution? We will have a pen-and-paper test in that area,” said Commissioner Aileen Lizada said in an interview with CNN Philippines’ Newsroom Ngayon.

Lizada said the commission has already received a greenlight from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to push through with the test this year, but details are still being ironed out.

She said it will be the commission personnel who will go to the specific areas with poor internet access to conduct the written exam.

“Pero hindi na po kayo kailangan pumunta sa ibang region (You don’t need to go to another region)...The CSC will go to that region or to the area to give the pen-and-paper test,” she said.

Lizada added a pilot run of the computerized and written format of civil service examination will be conducted soon
