LIST: Power lines down due to Typhoon Tisoy

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 2) — Several power lines have been knocked down by strong winds brought by Typhoon Tisoy, which continues its approach toward the Bicol region.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported Monday that the following transmission lines are unavailable:

South Luzon

Sorsogon-Bulan 69kV Line

Customer affected: SORECO I

Visayas

Palanas-Cara-Catarman-Allen-Lao-ang 69kV Line

Customer affected: NORSAMELCO.

Nasaug-San Isidro 69kV Line

Customer affected: SOLECO

Paranas-Taft-Borongan-Quinapondan 69kV Line

Customer affected: ESAMELCO

Calbayog-Palanas-Cara 69-kV Line

Customer affected: SAMELCO I

Ormoc-San Isidro 69-kV Line

Customer affected: LEYECO III, LEYECO V, BILECO, DORELCO

The NGCP said they will inspect and restore the lines as soon as the weather permits.

Meanwhile, the Naga-Lagonoy 69kV line which serves customers of CASURECO II and CASURECO IV has been restored, the NGCP said.

The eyewall of Tisoy has hit Northern Samar, Albay, Camarines Sur and Sorsogon as the storm is expected to make landfall in Sorsogon in the next three hours.

Tisoy was last spotted 90 kilomters east of Juban, Sorsogon and is moving west at 15 km per hour.

It has maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour near its center, and a gustiness of 230 kilometers per hour.

It is expected to match the strength of typhoon “Glenda," which killed 106 people in 2014 and caused around ₱38.6-billion in damage, according to data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
