Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 20) — The continuous monsoon rains on Friday morning submerged several streets in Metro Manila and nearby provinces in flood waters.

Authorities are also monitoring the water level in Marikina River.

It rose to 16 meters at of 7:56 a.m. Residents near the river are automatically asked to preemptively evacuate once the water level reaches that level.

Once the water level reaches 18 meters, the local government's disaster response unit will implement forced evacuations of residents along the river.

Residents are advised to monitor the water level and to stay alert.

A yellow rainfall warning was hoisted over Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, as of 7 a.m.

The enhanced monsoon will continue to bring rains on Friday over western Luzon, including Metro Manila, weather officials said. When Inday leaves the Philippines on Saturday, the weather will start improving, forecaster Chris Perez said.
