Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 9) — If Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque were to pick a role model for women in light of International Women's Day, it would be Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson.

"Naniniwala talaga ako na modelo si Mocha Uson para sa ating kababaihan dahil si Mocha Uson, nakikita natin nagdesisyon siyang magbagong-buhay at talaga namang nagpu-pursige dito sa kanyang bagong buhay," Roque said in a Facebook live interview Friday

He also admired Uson's huge following and impact on her social media platforms.

Roque slammed Uson's detractors who use her previous job as an entertainer against her.

"Kinakailangan mabuhay.

Uson, who was appointed to her government post in 2017, enjoys the support of over five million subscribers on her Facebook page, MOCHA USON Blog. The Communications official is a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, using her page as a platform to express her opinion.

Senators have urged Mocha Uson to use her power as a social media blogger wisely, after a series of gaffes on her page -- including inaccurate photos, fake news, and outdated stories, including those against the President's critics.
