Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 5) — Familiar faces are set to sashay on the Miss World Philippines stage this year.

Aside from returnees and crossovers from other pageants, celebrities—including Michelle Dee—are among the official candidates introduced on Sunday in San Juan City.

Dee, a model, is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, cousin of Winwyn Marquez who joined Miss World Philippines in 2017, and eventually won Reina Hispanoamericana in the same year.

Singer and former child star Isabelle de Leon as well as actress Kelley Day are also included in this year's line-up.

They will vie for the Miss World Philippines title and other minor crowns such as Reina Hispanoamericano and Miss Eco Philippines.

The coronation night will be on September 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Other celebrities who previously joined and won in the annual pageant are Laura Lehman, Alyssa Muhlach, and Megan Young, who bagged the country's first Miss World crown in 2013.

Catriona Gray also first joined Miss World Philippines and represented the country in the international edition of the pageant in 2016 before winning Miss Universe 2018.
