Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 3)— The fifth installation of the Danish Film Festival this month will open with the Filipino-produced and directed film “Nuuk.”

Nuuk, directed by Veronica Velasco, stars veteran actors Aga Muhlach and Alice Dixson. It is the first Filipino film shot in Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. The movie tells the story of two Filipinos whose meeting unfolds a life-shattering mystery in the snow-covered capital, Nuuk.

The film also serves as a reunion movie for Muhlach and Dixson who previously worked in movies such as “Sinungaling Mong Puso” in 1992.

Other films to be screened in the festival are: Birgitte Stærmose’s Darling (2017); Milad Alami’s The Charmer (2017); Jonas Elmer’s I Am William (2017); Nicolo Donato’s Across the Waters (2016); Bille August’s A Fortunate Man (2018); Annika Berg’s Team Hurricane (2017); Jannik Hastrup’s Circleen, Coco & the Wild Rhinoceros (2018); Carl Theodore Dreyer’s Ordet (The Word, 1954); and Jasper Nielsen’s The Day Will Come (2016).

The Danish Film Festival runs from October 9 to 13 at Cinema 4 of the Red Carpet, Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City. Admission is free and on a first-come, first-served basis.
