Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Saturday (June 20) the eight official entries to this year's 41st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The chosen features out of the 21 entires submitted were :

Mr. and Mrs. Split- comedy film starring Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Kris Aquino

Walang Forever- romantic comedy film starring JM de Guzman and Jennylyn Mercado

Beauty and the Bestie- comedy action film starring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin

Roncom-in Mo Ako- romantic comedy film starring Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai delas Alas

Death and Senses- suspense-horror film starring Rayver Cruz and Jason Gainza

Haunted Mansion- horror film starring Jerome Ponce and Marlo Mortel

Hermano Pule- historical film

Nilalang: The Entity- action-suspense film starring Robin Padilla and Maria Ozawa

Overall chairman of the MMFF, Francis Tolentino, said he was hoping for the gross earnings this year to reach P1.2 billion.

Meanwhile, the MMFF selection board said the chosen entries should start filming not later than by the end of July.
