Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 4) — Rail commuters should expect the reopening of Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) Roosevelt station for commercial operation and a new train schedule starting Dec. 5, private operator Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) announced Sunday.

LRMC described as “acceptable” the operational exercises conducted over the weekend to reintegrate the Roosevelt station under LRT-1’s new Alstom signaling system.

The procedures prompted the temporary suspension of LRT-1 operations from Baclaran to Balintawak stations from Dec. 3 to 4.

“We at LRMC consider this a great milestone because we know how important this station is for many commuters especially those residing in the north,” said LRMC Chief Operating Officer Rolando Paulino III.

Also, starting Dec. 5, the last trip from the Baclaran station will depart at 10 p.m. while it would be 10:15 p.m. for the Roosevelt station.

During weekends and holidays, the last train will leave the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively.

The first trips of both northbound and southbound trains will still be at 4:30 a.m.
