Gilas wins tune-up game vs. Korean club
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 22) — Gilas Pilipinas won against the Korean team LG Sakers, 86-81, in a tune-up game on Friday at the PhilSports Arena ahead of the 19th Asian Games.
Justin Brownlee led the Philippine squad with 19 points and five rebounds.
Gilas was up by eight points at the half, but the LG Sakers caught up in the third quarter and until the last minutes of the match.
June Mar Fajardo and Calvin Oftana also contributed 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Gilas will fly to Hangzhou, China on Saturday for the continental sporting event.
The Philippines will face Bahrain on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
