Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 22) — The Philippine women's football team began its 19th Asian Games stint with a 3-1 win over Hong Kong Friday at the Wenzhou Sports Centre Stadium in China.

Sarina Bolden, the country's lone scorer in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, continued to be an offensive asset for the Filipinas as she netted the first goal through a penalty kick at the ninth minute.

Hong Kong then equalized the score at 1-1 after Wai Ki Cheung found the bottom of the net 30 minutes later.

Quinley Quezada broke the tie as she scored a goal for the Philippines at the 89th minute before Katrina Guillou sealing the win with another goal in the added time.

This is Mark Torcaso's first victory as the Filipinas head coach.

The Philippines will next face South Korea on Sept. 25 then close the group stage against Myanmar on Sept. 28.

The Filipinas must finish in the top 2 of their group to advance the next stage of competition.
