Powerlifter Marydol Pamati-an wins gold at 2023 ASEAN Para Games

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 4) — Powerlifter Marydol Pamati-an on Sunday bagged the Philippines’ 4th gold medal at the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.

She dominated the women's 41kg para powerlifting event to win two medals in the competition — the gold medal for the total lift and a silver medal for the best lift.

Pamati-an, a veteran of the sport, took home two bronze medals in the same categories in the under 41kg weight division in the 2022 edition of the ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, her teammate, Achelle Guion also bagged two silver medals — for total lift and best lift in the under 45kg weight division.
