Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 3) — Cherry Rondina is making a comeback in the indoor volleyball scene as she joins the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the team management announced Saturday.

"An unstoppable force on the sand and now on the court!" Choco Mucho said in a social media post.

The 26-year-old outside hitter will join former UAAP rivals Desiree Cheng, Bea de Leon, and Isa Molde in Choco Mucho's podium finish bid in the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference this June after a 6th place finish last year.

Rondina’s last stint in indoor volleyball was in 2019 with the multi-titled Petron Blaze Spikers in the now-defunct Philippine Super Liga.

She later on focused on beach volleyball and brought home several medals for the country.

Rondina won bronze medals from the Southeast Asian Games in 2019 and 2022. She also bagged the gold in the 2022 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures.

Rondina is a product of the University of Santo Tomas where she played in both indoor and beach volleyball tournaments of the UAAP.

She was a four-time champion and two-time most valuable player awardee in the UAAP beach volleyball tournament.

Rondina also played a vital role in UST Golden Tigresses’ runner-up finish in UAAP Season 81 indoor volleyball tournament, where she also bagged the MVP plum and 2nd Best Outside Spiker award.

Rondina’s national beach volleyball teammate Bernadeth Pons also announced on Friday her return to indoor volleyball with the Creamline Cool Smashers, a sister team of Choco Mucho.
