Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 12) — The Philippines' athletics team bagged the country's 31st gold medal after dominating the 4x400m relay in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

The men's quartet, composed of Frederick Ramirez, Joyme Sequita, Michael Carlo del Prado, and Umajesty Williams, outran Thailand by a millisecond — 3:07.22-3:07.23.

Malaysia lagged behind by a second to land on the third spot.

Vietnam and Singapore finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

This was the Philippines' fourth gold medal within the day after Wushu star Agatha Wong topped the women's taijiquan + taijijian event and the Poomsae team captured two medals on Friday.
