(CNN Philippines, March 28) — Bryan Bagunas erupted for 42 points to help Win Streak nab its first Taiwan Top League title, dethroning the Pingtung Taipower, 19-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 15-12, in Game 3 of the finals on Monday.

The former UAAP Most Valuable Player, a product of the National University, dropped 39 attacks, two blocks, and an ace to lead his squad and take down the seven-time champions Taipower.

With the victory, Bagunas became the first male Filipino volleyball player to win a title abroad and the second Filipino after Jaja Santiago steered the Aego Medics to the Japan V Cup crown in 2021.

The 25-year-old previously played in the Japan V.League for three seasons before moving to Taiwan last year.

Bagunas was supposed to see action for Imus in the 2023 Spikers' Turf Open Conference in the country, but he missed it as Win Streak went on the title run.
