Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 22) — The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will be staging its men's basketball games at four venues in Season 85, which tips off on Oct. 1.

Apart from the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City where the Season 84 men's basketball tournament was solely held, the league will be returning to the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, and the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons will begin their title retention bid against the De La Salle University Green Archers at the MOA Arena on opening day, with a matchup between the Adamson University Soaring Falcons and University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers serving as the curtain raiser of the season.

The University of the East Red Warriors and National University Bulldogs will square off on Oct. 2 at the MOA Arena, followed by the clash between Season 84 runner-up Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and Far Eastern University Tamaraws.

Quadruple headers will be a part of this season due to adjustments made for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers window that will happen in November. The matchups will be held every Wednesday starting Oct. 5.

The women's basketball tournament will feature a double header in the morning of the men's games. The NU Lady Bulldogs will try to extend their 96-game winning streak.

The UST Quadricentennial Pavilion will be the venue of the women's quadruple headers.
