(CNN Philippines, September 21) — Roosevelt Adams is flying to Japan to play for second division squad Kagawa Five Arrows.

The team made the announcement Wednesday on its social media account.

"Very grateful for this opportunity and super excited to meet everyone and make memories this season," the 28-year-old cager said in a statement.

Adams, the top overall pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft, is coming off a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the fourth window of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers.

The 6-foot-4 forward previously played for the Terrafirma Dyip last PBA season but failed to renew his contract with the local ball club.

Adams will join a Kagawa side that finished with a 36-16 win-loss slate last season.
