Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 2) — Toyota Motor Philippines’ one-make series, the Vios Cup, is back on-track as it flagged off its 2022 season on Saturday at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Dubbed as the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup, the event will have three legs featuring two race competitions for drivers: the Circuit Championship and the Autocross Challenge.

The country’s racing teams, composed of seasoned and rising race car drivers, will battle it out to earn podium finishes in Circuit Championship’s three categories: Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional.

Meanwhile, speed and racing skills of the participants of the Autocross Challenge will be tested in a race course marked by pylons.

“Over the years, the TGR Vios Cup has been serving as a vehicle for us to champion the local racers, and to bring the thrill of racing to everyone,” said Sherwin Chualim, Toyota Motor Philippines First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations.

The company added that this has been their "commitment in making motorsports more accessible to both racers and Filipino racing enthusiasts, further fueling the country's growing love for motorsports."

The second leg of the series is slated for August while the third and final leg will be held in November.
