Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 14) – The Philippines successfully maintained its reign as the best Southeast Asian nation in triathlon as Filipino triathletes swept the golds in the individual events of the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Saturday at the Tuan Chau Resort in Quang Ninh town.

Kim Mangrobang won her third straight SEA Games gold in the women's side after finishing with a time of two hours and 13.310 minutes.

Mangrobang also clinched her fourth consecutive SEA Games after nabbing the silver in 2015, and the golds in 2017 and 2019 editions.

Another Filipina, Raven Alcoseba secured a bronze by clocking in two hours and 18.300 minutes.

Indonesia's Inge Prasetyo took home the silver with a time of two hours and 16.380 minutes.

Meanwhile, in the men's side, Fernando Casares achieved a gold medal as he clocked in one hour and 56.570 minutes.

Andrew Kim Remolino duplicated his silver medal finish in 2019 after he finished with a time of one hour and 59.160 minutes.

Indonesian triathlete Ronald Setiawan Bintang claimed bronze with a time of two hours and 1.350 minutes.

“We were expecting this in the first place, but we never relaxed despite the confidence we have. They still did their homework,” said national triathlon team coach George Vilog.

The two golds, one silver, and one bronze harvest of the Philippine triathlon team boosted the country's overall medal haul in the 31st SEA Games. So far, the Filipinos have six golds, 14 silvers, and 15 bronzes.
