Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 8) — The Creamline Cool Smashers management on Wednesday assured fans that volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez won’t need to undergo surgery following a knee injury.

“Creamline Cool Smashers management would like to inform everyone that after reviewing the MRI result, the doctors have advised several weeks of rest and rehabilitation for our team captain,” the team management said in a statement.

Valdez hurt her right knee after she dived to save the ball during the third set of the bronze medal match against Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Tuesday. She was not able to return to the court for the rest of the match.

The Cool Smashers still managed to bag a podium finish in the tournament after winning in four sets.

“Management will ensure that Alyssa gets the best possible care and treatment for her to come back stronger in due time,” Creamline said.

Valdez was also awarded as one of the conference’s best outside spikers.
