Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 4) — The Adamson University secured the last Final Four berth after outlasting the De La Salle University in a cardiac conclusion, 80-76, on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Jerom Lastimosa carried Adamson in the do-or-die game with 22 points on 40 percent shooting from beyond the arc, along with six assists. The star guard was involved in 24 of Adamson's 42 points in the second half.

La Salle was off to a hot start, knocking down six three-pointers in the opening quarter and giving the Taft-based squad a 10-point advantage at the halftime break.

But it was Adamson's turn to make a run in the third frame where they snatched the lead for the first time, courtesy of Lastimosa's 11 points.

La Salle’s backcourt tandem of Evan Nelle and Mark Nonoy combined for 37 points in the losing effort.

The absence of key players Schonny Winston, Kevin Quiambo, and Mike Phillips proved to be difficult for La Salle, as they failed to make buckets in crucial moments in the final frame.

Joshua Yerro added 13 points, including the game-sealing free throw, to go with six rebounds for Adamson.

Adamson will face top-seed Ateneo de Manila University, which has a twice-to-beat edge, on Dec. 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
