Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 21) – Two Filipino figure skaters will chase their own Olympic dreams in the Nebelhorn Trophy 2021, a qualifying event for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Reigning national champion Edrian Celestino is the country's male representative in the tournament, where the best seven figure skaters will qualify for the Beijing Winter Olympiad.

The Canada-born Celestino topped the recent Olympic qualifier evaluation organized by the Philippine Skating Union, where he bested Southeast Asian Games silver medalist Christopher Caluza and two-time Winter Olympian Michael Martinez.

Meanwhile, the 15-year-old Frank seeks to become the first Filipina to advance in the Winter Olympics as she tries to clinch one of the six Olympic tickets up for grabs on the distaff side.

Frank recently bagged a bronze medal in the 2021 Colorado Springs Invitational.

The Los-Angeles born Frank arrived in Germany on Monday and is now in the thick of her preparations for the Winter Olympic qualifiers.

The Nebelhorn event will be Frank's first international tournament representing the Philippines since becoming part of the national team in August this year.
