Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 24) – Filipino swimmer Remedy Rule failed to advance to the Tokyo Olympics women's 100-meter butterfly semifinals after missing the Top 16 in the heats at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre on Saturday.

Rule finished second in her heat, clocking in 59.68 seconds. But her time was not enough to send her to the semifinal round on Sunday morning as she placed 25th overall in the heats.

She still has a chance to bounce back in her Olympic campaign in the preliminary heats of the women's 200-meter butterfly event, set for Tuesday evening.
