Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 10) — Jordi Gomez de Liaño has committed to play for the University of Santo Tomas, according to the school's official student publication The Varsitarian.

The younger brother of University of the Philippines cagers Juan and Javi is taking a different path as he is headed to España in the collegiate ranks.

Jordi averaged 13 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for the University of the Philippines Integrated School in UAAP Season 82.

The young De Liaño was supposed to suit up for Gilas Pilipinas Youth in the 2019 FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship in Beirut, Lebanon, but that tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Growling Tigers are looking to bounce back from the Sorsogon 'bubble' controversy that saw the departure of head coach Aldin Ayo and vital cogs CJ Cansino and Mark Nonoy.

Jordi will join incoming rookies Rom Junsay from Arellano, Johnsherick Estrada from St. Clare College of Caloocan, and Nikko Panganiban from Our Lady of Fatima University under the supervision of Jinino Manansala.
