Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 13) — Smart Communications Inc.’s professional basketball team is welcoming back Vincent “Chot” Reyes as its head coach.

In a statement on Saturday, TNT Tropang Giga announced Reyes’ comeback to the Philippine Basketball Association for its 46th season.

“It’s like a homecoming for Chot. He is a coach that gave us four championships. We look forward to a successful relationship with Coach Chot,” said Ricky Vargas, team governor and chairman of the PBA Board of Governors.

Al Panlilio, Smart President and CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer, said they are also looking forward to working with Reyes as he leads TNT in the coming season.

Vargas also recognized the TNT’s active consultant Mark Dickel for what he has done for the team.

“He brought us to the PBA Finals twice in the two years that he was onboard. We wish him well as he moves on to new endeavors,” he noted.

Vargas added that Reyes wanted the former consultant to continue his duties for the team, but Dickel declined to look for new opportunities and recover from his recent operation in Las Vegas, Nevada.
