Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 27) – Two ballclubs pulled off surprising performances in the first day of the third leg of the Philippine Basketball Association's inaugural 3x3 tournament, Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Sista Super Sealers ended up as the surprise leader of Pool B with a 2-0 record as they defeated Leg 2 runners-up Platinum Karaoke, 22-19, in their first game after Leo de Vera waxed hot with 11 points.

Sista then produced another upset win in their second game after edging San Miguel Beermen, 21-20.

The Beermen finished the day at 0-2 after being beaten by sister team Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel, 20-21, through a game-winning shot by Dennice Villamor.

Meanwhile, Terrafirma clinched a quarterfinals slot after being undefeated in their three games in Pool A.

Terrafirma first outlasted Leg 2 champions Meralco Bolts, 22-18. They notched a low scoring close win against Pioneer Pro Tibay, 17-14, and a dominating victory over NorthPort Batang Pier, 21-11.

The squad will face winless Zamboanga Valientes on Sunday in their last pool play match.

The Purefoods TJ Titans currently lead Pool C with a 2-0 record after defeating Cavitex Braves (21-14) and Limitless Appmasters (20-17).
