Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 13) – For the third straight year, Terrafirma Dyip will pick first in the 2021 PBA Draft slated on March 14.

Terrafirma tied with Blackwater Elite in the bottom of the team standings of the 2020 PBA All-Filipino Cup held in a ‘bubble’ at Angeles, Pampanga, finishing with a 1-10 win-loss record.

The Dyip previously picked CJ Perez and Roosevelt Adams first overall in the 2018 and 2019 PBA Drafts, respectively. It could have been a fourth straight No. 1 draft pick for the franchise if they did not cede the draft rights of Fil-German big man Christian Standhardinger to San Miguel in the 2017 draft.

NorthPort will pick second, while NLEX holds the third and fourth overall draft picks. The Road Warriors secured the No. 3 draft pick by virtue of a past trade deal with Blackwater.

Rain or Shine, Magnolia, Alaska, San Miguel Beer, Meralco, Phoenix Super LPG, NorthPort (from a past deal with TNT) and Barangay Ginebra will pick the next eight draft picks in the first round, respectively.

NorthPort picks first in the second round, holding such rights after a previous trade deal with Terrafirma and NLEX. At No. 2 is Blackwater (from NorthPort via Meralco), then the Elite squad again followed by Phoenix (from NLEX), Rain or Shine, Magnolia, Alaska, NLEX (from SMB via NorthPort), Alaska (from Meralco via Phoenix), Rain or Shine (from Phoenix), Rain or Shine (from TNT) and Ginebra.

Alvin Pasaol, Santi Santillan, Troy Rike, Tyrus Hill, and Frank Johnson are some of the brightest prospects of the 2021 draft class. The PBA Season 46 is scheduled to tip-off in April.
