Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 14) — It's finally a go for Jordan Clarkson.

The Filipino-American cager has been cleared by the National Basketball Association to suit up for the Philippine men's basketball team in the 2018 Asian Games.

Chef de Mission Richard Gomez confirmed the news to CNN Philippines Tuesday. He also said the Indonesian organizing committee of the Asian Games and Olympic Council of Asia have given their thumbs up to Clarkson's inclusion to the national squad.

"NBA gave the green light to JC to play for the Asian Games. Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said yes for his reentry to the team. We need to fly out JC to get to Jakarta on Thursday in time for our game against Kazakhstan."

The Philippines will first see action on August 16 when they go up against Kazakhstan, before they face powerhouse team China on August 21.
