Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 2) — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it completed printing ballots on Friday for the plebiscite that will decide if Baliwag town in Bulacan will get cityhood status.

The poll body said it printed 108,572 official ballots for the Baliwag Plebiscite on Dec. 17 in partnership with the National Printing Office.

According to Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, the approved budget for the plebiscite has been set at ₱24.270 million.

Republic Act No 11929, an act converting the municipality of Baliwag into a component city, lapsed into law on July 30 this year.

Comelec said there would be 26 voting centers, with 27 barangays participating in the plebiscite.
