Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 24) – Around 10 crew members of a capsized boat in Albay were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard on Saturday amid bad weather and rough sea conditions.

Eric Odeña, boat captain of MBCA Island Breeze, said they were supposed to go to Claveria Island when strong waves pummeled their vessel.

Members of the PCG Search and Rescue Team first spotted the capsized MBCA Island Breeze at 7:45 a.m, some 250 meters away from Pio Duran Port.

The initial rescue operation did not push through due to rough sea conditions, but the wind direction and strong waves brought the capsized boat closer to the shore.

The 10 rescued crew members were brought to the PCG Sub-Station Pio Duran, who were all found out to be in good physical condition.

As of 2:00 p.m., the distressed MBCA Island Breeze remains at the shore of Pio Duran Port for proper disposition by its owner.
