Lanao del Sur under MECQ beginning Sept. 7; Nueva Vizcaya town tightens restrictions
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 5) — Lanao del Sur will be placed under modified enhanced community quarantine on Monday, September 7 until September 30 due to the spike in coronavirus cases, an official said Friday.
Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament Member Zia Alonto Adiong said in a Facebook post that of the 167 coronavirus infections in August, 119 were from local transmission.
The province has 360 cases, including 112 currently ill while 241 have recovered.
Meanwhile, Solano town in Nueva Vizcaya began tighter restrictions on September 1 and will last until September 15.
Mayor Eufemia Dacayo said as of Friday, Solano has 167 active cases.
Under an MECQ, people 21 years old and below, and 60 and above should stay home, except when obtaining essential goods and services or reporting to work in permitted industries.
Also covered by the stay-at-home rule are those with health risks and pregnant women.
