Two police officers survive rebel ambush in Quezon

Quezon Province (CNN Philippines, February 14) — Two police officers survived an attack by communist rebels in San Narciso, Quezon province Friday morning.

According to the Quezon Police Provincial Office, Patrolmen Millan Kenn Parco and Kennedy Piamonte were on patrol in their vehicle in Barangay San Juan when rebels fired at them, resulting in a gunfight.

People in the area helped the wounded policemen.

Police said a rebel was shot as well.

The police have coordinated with the military to go after the rebels.
