Baguio City (CNN Philippines, October 20) - A 106-year-old man left the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center on Tuesday, after beating COVID-19.

The centenarian from Barangay Irisan was welcomed by his daughter while some nurses surprised him with a celebratory dance number.

City Health Services Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo said the patient was released “based on clinical evaluation and risk assessment by his attending physician at the BGHMC.” The hospital said he tested positive for the virus on October 9 and stayed in the hospital for 13 days.

On Tuesday, Baguio City logged a total of 1,704 COVID-19 cases with 1,094 recoveries, 21 total deaths and 589 active or currently ill patients but the 65 new infections were from Monday alone.
