Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 6) — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Wednesday said enrolment will be allowed until the end of the month in light of disruptions caused by storms.

Education Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas said final student population figures will only be released by then.

"Once 100% of schools have reported, mag close na [it will be closed] and we will have the official number for this school year," he said.

As of 9 a.m. of Sept. 6, the DepEd said 25,890,617 students are enroled, below the 28.8 million in 2022-2023, it said.

Calabarzon has the highest number of students (3.8 million), followed by Central Luzon (2.8 million), and Metro Manila (2.6 million).
