Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 13) – Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando had a medical emergency after suffering from exhaustion, overfatigue and dehydration due to his busy schedule.

The provincial government of Bulacan on Wednesday posted a medical statement from his cardiologist, Dr. Berwyn Flores, stating that the governor is undergoing work ups and a series of laboratory examinations marked as “overdue executive check-up.”

In the past couple of weeks, local officials of Bulacan said Fernando have been actively participating in relief operations in various locations in Bulacan affected by a series of typhoons and monsoon rains.

The governor was also present in an LGBT event on Sept. 11 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, where he suddenly halted and cancelled his speech, apparently feeling unwell.

He later expressed "deep gratitude for the well wishes, prayers and messages of concern from his family, friends, fellow public servants and Bulacan citizens,” a statement of the provincial government of Bulacan read.

According to his doctors, Fernando is now "in good condition and in good health" and is expected to come back in full swing after a few days of adequate rest.
