Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 31) — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday suspended the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) in the National Capital Region (NCR), Abra and Ilocos Norte due to severe rains and flooding.

The poll body announced the suspension after ordering the temporary closure of its various offices because of bad weather.

Malacañang suspended government work on Friday, Sept. 1, prompting Comelec to extend anew the filing of COCs.

The COC filing in NCR will resume on Sept. 2 until 4, while Abra will continue on Sept. 1 until 4.

Meanwhile, the filing of COC in Ilocos Norte is extended until Sept. 3.

According to the Comelec's original calendar of activities, the filing of barangay and SK COCs are open until Sept. 2. only https://www.cnnphilippines.com/news/2023/8/28/BSKE-COC-filing-gun-ban-.html
