DOH targets to complete payout of COVID-19 allowance for health workers by yearend
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 15) — The Department of Health (DOH) said on Tuesday it targets to complete the distribution of the remaining ₱15.2 billion worth of health emergency allowances before the end of 2023.
Health Undersecretary Enrique Tayag said the government has so far distributed P46.4 billion pesos in hazard pay to healthcare workers who served during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Tinataya na bago matapos ang taon ay kumpleto nang naibigay ito," he said in a media briefing.

The official said Health Secretary Ted Herbosa has been meeting with private hospital groups to explain that the backlog is due to documentary issues.
Tayag said the DOH is in close coordination with the Department of Budget and Management to ensure there are enough funds.
During his 2nd SONA, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. promised to release pending emergency allowances and benefits to health workers.
