Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 27) — A number of flights scheduled from May 27 until the end of the month have been cancelled as a safety measure amid bad weather and in anticipation of the effects of Typhoon Betty.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced the cancellation of one flight scheduled on May 27, Saturday, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Some PAL and Cebu Pacific flights set from May 29 to 31 were canceled due to Betty, which entered the country’s weather monitoring area early Saturday morning and is expected to bring heavy rains over parts of the country in the coming days.

Both PAL and Cebu Pacific said passengers whose flights were affected may rebook to the next available one, convert their ticket to travel credits equivalent to the unused base fare, or request for a refund.

One flight of Cebgo, with the detail “*DG 6881/6882 Manila-Surigao-Manila” and scheduled for May 27, was also cancelled due to bad weather, according to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The Philippine Ports Authority, meanwhile, announced the cancellation of several trips on Sunday due to bad weather.
