Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 23) — The COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila may have peaked already, a fellow from OCTA Research said Tuesday.

According to OCTA Research fellow Guido David, the capital region’s positivity rate in the past week fell from 26.1% to 25.2% on May 21.

“It looks like the trend has peaked,” he said in a social media post.

David noted that during the period hospital occupancy also decreased from 29.7% to 28.8%.

The Department of Health on Monday reported that the country logged 12,426 new COVID-19 cases during the week of May 15-21.
