PNP ‘ready’ for barangay, SK elections; intensifies fight vs. loose firearms
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 22) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is “ready” to ensure a peaceful barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in October.
“Ang election naman ay on a regular basis nagaganap ‘yan, may templated security preparation na kami dyan. The PNP is ready,” PNP Public Information Office chief PCol Redrico Maranan said during a briefing on Monday.

Maranan warned private armed groups (PAGs) that the PNP would further intensify its campaign against loose firearms.

Asked regarding election areas of concern, Maranan said the Commission on Elections is tasked to release the list.
