Fire hits residential area in Quezon City

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 21) — A fire struck a residential area along Dahlia Street in Barangay Old Capitol Site, Quezon City on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire broke out at around 3:46 p.m. and reached the third alarm at 4:12 p.m.

It was declared under control at 6:37 p.m. and was completely extinguished at 7:33 p.m.

The blaze of still unknown origin affected around 15 houses. No casualty or injury from the fire has been reported so far.

The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said it has prepared partition tents, face masks, and alcohol to be distributed to the fire victims evacuated to the barangay's Pechayan basketball court.

It added that the city’s Social Service Development Department is also on-site to assist the evacuees.
