“The retrieval team arrived at the crash site today around 8 a.m. The rain and the slippery slopes slowed them,” the Isabela Public Information Office (PIO) said.
The Cessna was found Thursday morning (March 9) at Barangay Ditarum in Divilacan town, over a month after it was first reported missing on Jan. 24. There were no survivors.
The aircraft was found on a slope with dense forest cover, according to the Isabela Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
Weather conditions have also been tough on retrievers, it added.
“The remains of the pilot and the five passengers will be respectfully placed in large plastic bags and then into the cadaver bags. The bodies will be carried down the mountain and to Divilacan proper as soon as possible,” the PIO added.
