DOH: 1,101 new COVID-19 cases logged on Feb. 6-12, up by 9% from previous week

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 13) — The country saw 1,101 new COVID-19 infections on Feb. 6-12, the Department of Health (DOH) reported in its weekly bulletin.

The daily average number of cases was 157. The latest tally reflected a 9% increase from the previous week.

Of the new cases, there were two severe and critical infections. A total of 426 critical patients are in hospitals, representing 6.2% of COVID-19 admissions nationwide.

There were also 98 deaths verified, including six that occurred from Jan. 30 to Feb. 12.

The country’s total confirmed cases now stand at 4,074,691, with 9,177 active cases. Over 3.9 million have recovered while nearly 66,000 succumbed to the disease.

More than 73 million individuals, or 94.57% of the target population, have been vaccinated against COVID-19 while 21 million have already received their booster shots.

Meanwhile, 6.9 million senior citizens, or 79.47% of the target A2 population, have already received their primary vaccine series.
