Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 17)— Government workers can avail of free train rides in select lines and times on Monday, Sept. 19, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

This is in connection with the Civil Service Commission’s “Treats to Government Workers” program in celebration of the Philippine Civil Service anniversary, the agency said in a statement on Saturday.

Participating lines are the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2), and the Philippine National Railways (PNR), the DOTr noted.

The schedules for the free rides are as follows:

MRT-3 and LRT-2: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m; and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m

PNR: Whole day (first to last trip in all operational routes) subject to the availability of trainsets

To avail, qualified personnel only need to present their IDs as proof of employment with any government agency or office.
