Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 8) — The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting announced on Monday that it has new chairperson — business leader Evelyn Singson. She takes over the post from Myla Villanueva, who stepped down in July.

The council's statement said Singson "has outlined a program for PPCRV that will be ongoing from now till the next elections."

Singson was the former president of the Management Association of the Philippines and chairman of the Women for Women Foundation (Asia) Inc. among others.

"Evelyn envisions a citizenry converted toward 'putting country above self,'" PPCRV added.
